  • Janhvi Kapoor Reveals Sridevi’s Favourite Holiday Spot Was Cannes: “Feels Weird Coming Back Without Her”

Janhvi Kapoor made a grand debut at the 78th Cannes Film Festival ahead of the premiere of Neeraj Ghaywan’s Homebound. During Get Ready with Me segment by Vogue India, Janhvi Kapoor remembered her late mother Sridevi and shared Cannes was her favourite holiday destination.

Recalling the fond memories of visiting the place with Sridevi, Janhvi told Vogue India, “You know this place was my mom’s favourite place to come to for a holiday. We spent 3-4 consecutive summers here… It was like a big thing with us as a family. Every time mom would do something, every time she was getting an award, or her movie (was getting screened somewhere)… I remember English Vinglish premiered at the Toronto Film Festival, or when dad was shooting somewhere… All of these big life moments. We would be together as a family and experience them together and celebrate.”

Sharing the feeling of emptiness after visiting Cannes without her mother, Janhvi said, “We are back in Cannes. My dad (Boney Kapoor) and Khushi are with me… It is weird coming back here without her and especially because she always took me to her big moments. I miss her a lot.”

  • When Aishwarya Rai In A Yellow Saree Took A Chariot To Cannes And Changed Everything

Aishwarya Rai Bachchan debuted at Cannes Film Festival in 2002.

Her entrance in a horse-drawn chariot marked a cultural milestone.

The film “Devdas” premiered, showcasing Indian cinema to global audiences.

In the grand corridors of global cinema, few debuts have been as defining as Aishwarya Rai Bachchan‘s first appearance at the Cannes Film Festival in 2002.

It wasn’t just a red carpet moment – it was a cultural milestone. Accompanied by her Devdas co-star Shah Rukh Khan and director Sanjay Leela Bhansali, Aishwarya‘s Cannes debut marked the beginning of what would become a two-decade-long relationship with the prestigious festival.

That year, Devdas had its grand international premiere at Cannes, introducing global audiences to Sanjay Leela Bhansali’s opulent, emotionally charged adaptation of Sarat Chandra Chattopadhyay’s beloved novel.

Aishwarya’s entrance was unforgettable. Arriving in a horse-drawn chariot, she set the tone for what would become an iconic moment.

Dressed in a sunshine-yellow Neeta Lulla saree, she looked every bit the Indian princess – regal, composed and radiant. Her look was simple yet striking: the saree was paired with minimal makeup, traditional kundan jewellery and her signature poise.

  • Prateik Smita Patil On Custody Battle Between Raj Babbar And Smita Patil’s Family After His Birth: “Kaun Maa, Kaun Baap”

Prateik Smita Patil has changed his last name many times in the last decade. A few weeks ago, he had revealed in public that he has chosen to go with the name Prateik Smita Patil after discussing with his wife, Priya Banerjee.

In a recent interview, Prateik Smita Patil revealed a custody battle ensued after his birth between his father Raj Babbar and Smita Patil’s family to decide upon his last name. Smita Patil died soon after his birth.

“It wasn’t even Smita, so growing up I was ‘Prateik Smit Babbar’. In school, everyone thought I was Christian because they would wonder ‘why Smit?’, no one cared for Babbar. Everyone just called me Smit.”

Prateik made a lasting impression in his debut film Jaane Tu Ya Jaane Na. In that film,  he was credited as ‘Prateik Babbar’ but subsequently, he went with just ‘Prateik’ for a few years.

“In my first film, my name was Prateik Babbar and then the devil got the better of me and I started thinking ‘Kaun hai maa? Kaun hai baap? (Who is mom? Who is dad?)’ Then I started thinking, ‘I don’t want to be Patil, I don’t want to be Babbar. I want to be just Prateik.’ For a few films, I was only Prateik because I was bitter about my parents. I was like, I don’t want to belong to them. They have only given me trauma my entire life. I don’t want to belong to them and then I continued with Prateik,” he said.

Sharing the thought behind settling with the name Prateik Smita Patil, he said, “I had to embrace that name, it makes me complete. Now, I am complete, I feel complete. Priya said ‘Prateik, you owe it to her, she gave her life for you, you owe that, you are her son’ and that hit different. I was like ‘this is who I have to be’.”

Prateik is known for acting in films like Dhobi Ghat, Baaghi 2, Mulk, Mitron, Chhichhore, to name a few.
